Texas Equine at Ag Networking Night 2025

We postponed our Virtual Education class on Thursday, November 13, 2025, Texas Equine because we had the honor of participating in Ag Networking Night at East Texas A&M University, held in the Rayburn Student Center from 5:30–7:30pm. This annual event brings together faculty, staff, industry leaders, and students for an evening of professional development, meaningful conversations, and hands-on learning opportunities.

Located at 2200 W. Neal St., Commerce, TX, Ag Networking Night is designed as an experiential learning opportunity—not a job fair—but a powerful way for students to explore career paths in farming, ranching, agribusiness, government agencies, and the greater food system. With appetizers, beverages, and a welcoming atmosphere, students gain valuable real-world networking experience, practice professional etiquette, and make connections that often influence the direction of their future careers.

Texas Equine’s Role at Ag Networking Night

Texas Equine was thrilled to represent the equine industry and share our Equine Industry Readiness Program and Internship with the next generation of agricultural professionals. Throughout the evening, we met nearly 50 students—our largest turnout ever—and were excited to begin receiving internship applications before the event was even over.

As alumni of East Texas A&M University, both Shelby and Kim enjoyed reconnecting with former instructors and supporters of agricultural education. We also want to extend a special shout-out to our intern, Emma, who joined us for the event. Emma shared her personal experience as a Texas Equine intern, offering students firsthand insight into the program and answering their questions with professionalism and enthusiasm.
