A Program for Our Heroes
Stars & Stirrups is a non-profit program that partners with Texas Equine Education & Horsemanship to provide discounted horsemanship lessons to Veterans and First Responders.
No one knows what it's like to be a veteran or a first responder unless you are one. Texas Equine believes in supporting our heroes. We call them STARS because they shine bright among us as they protect and serve our country, so we want to do our best to serve our STARS in return.
Horsemanship Lessons
The Stars & Stirrups program provides discounted horsemanship lessons. Each lesson is one hour and can be in a private or group setting. Horsemanship lessons include ground work, riding, horse care and safety. Lessons can benefit life skills such as confidence, commutation skills and energy regulation. Additional lessons may be scheduled with Texas Equine directly. In order to keep our wonderful lesson horses safe and happy, we have a weight limit of 200 lbs. We offer horsemanship lessons on the ground such as showmanship, free lunging, lunging and ground driving to all interested clients.

We are so proud to be able to bring this program to you, and now that we have 501c3 status, we are ready to start growing our program for our participants! In order to serve more amazing STARS, we provide lessons at a discounted rate.
To schedule an Intro Lesson, click here to fill out the liability form. Upon completion, you will receive a welcome email with the password for the scheduling page. When on the payment page, use the promo code: STAR&STIRRUPS to activate the 50% discount. Intro Lessons are available for new students and include a Meet & Greet and a lesson. At this time, the discount only applies to students who have served or are currently serving. Please reach out to Texas Equine if you would like to take lessons with a family member who has not served.
The same promo code will be used for current students as well.

Interested in donating?
All proceeds donated to Stars & Stirrups pays for our STARS to participate in horsemanship lessons. Donations are accepted through PayPal.

Stars & Stirrups is currently at capacity for the free horsemanship lesson program; however, gift certificates are available to purchase here for those who still want to participate in our horsemanship program.
