The Reading Rein
The Reading Rein is a fun and inspiring reading challenge for young horse lovers ages 2-16 around the world! Whether you're a beginner reader or a seasoned bookworm, this program lets you explore any horse-themed book, share your thoughts, and celebrate your success with special prizes from Texas Equine.
How it works:
1. Choose any book about horses.
Fiction, nonfiction, graphic novels, chapter books, or picture books—it’s your choice! It just needs to be about horses in some way.
[No reference books, please. It must be a book with a plot and characters.]
3. Answer six simple questions:
-
Who are the characters in the story?
-
What happened in the story?
-
When does it take place?
-
Where does the story take place?
-
Why did the characters do what they did?
-
How did it end or how did it make you feel?
5. Submit your COMPLETED worksheet and drawing.
