Meet Sly: A New Chapter Begins at Texas Equine

At Texas Equine Education & Horsemanship, every horse has a story—and some stories begin long before they arrive at our barn. Today, we are honored to introduce the newest member of our Equine Staff: Sly.

From “He’s Double the Fun” to Sly

Sly’s registered name, “He’s Double the Fun,” is a perfect reflection of the talent and personality he carries with him. Born on March 15, 2016, Sly brings with him a strong foundation, having been registered with multiple prestigious associations including the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA), National Snaffle Bit Association (NSBA), American Paint Horse Association (APHA), and the Pinto Horse Association of America (PtHA).

While we are still gathering more details about his show history, it is clear that Sly has been exposed to quality training and environments that have shaped him into the exceptional horse he is today.

A Heart for Service

Sly’s journey is one rooted in purpose. He was originally donated to Stable Strides Farm, where he was intended to serve as a therapy horse—an incredibly special role that requires patience, kindness, and a steady mind.

However, while on loan to another program, Sly experienced a hoof injury that required his work as a therapy horse to be paused. Under the careful guidance of a veterinarian, Sly was given the time he needed to rest, heal, and begin the recovery process properly.

In March 2026, Sly was generously donated to Texas Equine, and we are deeply grateful for the trust placed in us to continue his journey.

Thoughtful Rehabilitation & Care

At Texas Equine, we believe in a whole-horse approach to wellness—supporting not only physical healing but also mental and emotional well-being. Sly’s rehabilitation program has been carefully designed to help him rebuild strength, confidence, and comfort.

His current care plan includes:

  • Daily nutritional support with OsteoMax by 100X

  • Light riding to encourage gradual conditioning

  • Chiropractic care to support alignment and mobility

  • Magnet therapy and red light therapy for healing support

  • Cold therapy to reduce inflammation

  • Use of Back on Track products to promote circulation and recovery

Each step is intentional, allowing Sly to progress at a pace that respects his body and his story.

Looking Ahead

As Sly settles into his new home, we are focused on building trust, consistency, and confidence. Over time, as he continues to heal and grow stronger, Sly will begin to integrate into our lesson program.

His presence will not only enhance the quality of our show team but also provide our riders with the opportunity to learn from a horse with both experience and heart.

Welcome to the Family

Sly has already begun to make his mark here at Texas Equine. With his gentle nature, willing attitude, and undeniable presence, we know he has something truly special to offer.

We are beyond excited to welcome Sly into our herd of Equine Staff Members and look forward to watching his next chapter unfold—one built on care, patience, and purpose.

At Texas Equine, Sly’s story reminds us that healing takes time, but with the right support, every horse has the opportunity to rise into something even greater.
