A New Year, New Goals, and So Much to Look Forward To

We have a lot to look forward to in the coming weeks!

Winter Horse Show Season

Our Winter Horse Show season is officially underway! Registration is now open and will remain open through January 30th. This year’s shows feature exciting updates, and we can’t wait to welcome riders of all levels.

Our Winter 2025 season has now concluded, and the upcoming winter season will officially begin in January 2026.

We made this change for several reasons:

  • To better align our seasons with the natural calendar year

  • To create clearer scheduling for families, riders, and staff

  • To improve organization, planning, and long-term consistency

  • To make future show seasons easier to understand and plan for

We know transitions can sometimes be confusing, and we truly appreciate your patience as we make this adjustment. Our goal is always to create the best possible experience for our riders, families, and community — and this change helps us do just that.

Beginning in 2026, our Winter Show season will align with the calendar year and take place at the start of the year (January–February), when winter actually occurs. As a result, our 2025 Winter Show and 2026 Winter Show will take place closer together this one time as we make this transition.

To clarify, 2025 Year-End High Point awards will be calculated based only on points earned during the 2025 show season. The 2026 Winter Show will count toward the 2026 High Point standings, not 2025. This adjustment allows us to keep all future seasons aligned clearly and consistently moving forward.

Thank you for your understanding as we make this change to better serve our riders, families, and program overall.

The Chisholm Challenge

One of the highlights of our year is The Chisholm Challenge, a special horse show that celebrates equestrians with disabilities and their incredible partnerships with their horses.

The event takes place January 12–14, 2026, at the John Justin Arena as part of the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo. Texas Equine is honored to participate each year, and we are so proud of the riders who demonstrate determination, skill, and heart in every ride.

If you’re in the area, we encourage you to come cheer on these incredible athletes — it’s an unforgettable experience.

Celebrating the Human–Horse Connection at the Fort Worth Stock Show

Following the Chisholm Challenge, we are honored to take part in another meaningful event during the Fort Worth Stock Show — a special screening of Horse Power, a powerful documentary that explores the deep and transformative bond between humans and horses. More information about Horse Power: https://horsepowerfilm.com/

The film will be shown at the Omni Theater, with a special screening taking place on Thursday, January 15, followed by additional showings throughout the duration of the Stock Show. We are especially proud that Princess Reign and Prince Charles will be representing Texas Equine at this event, helping to showcase the incredible impact horses can have through connection, trust, and partnership.

While they are not therapy horses, Reign and Charles beautifully demonstrate the emotional awareness, gentleness, and presence that make horses such meaningful companions. We are honored to be part of this experience and grateful for the opportunity to celebrate the powerful relationships between humans and horses alongside the broader equestrian community.

A Quick Reminder About Gift Certificates

Our Texas Equine gift certificates are still available and can be used toward lessons, programs, and more. They also continue to count as entries toward our Cruise Giveaway, with entries accepted through January 31. If you’ve been thinking about purchasing or gifting one, now is a great time! A Note About Our Schedule

Because of the holidays and travel for the Chisholm Challenge, virtual education classes will resume the week of January 22. We appreciate everyone’s patience and flexibility during this busy and exciting time.

❤️ Thank You

As we move into this new year, we want to say how deeply grateful we are for every rider, family, volunteer, and supporter who makes Texas Equine what it is. Your encouragement, kindness, and belief in our mission mean everything to us.

Here’s to growth, learning, and many meaningful moments ahead — one step, one ride, and one goal at a time.

Happy New Year from all of us at Texas Equine! ✨
