Welcome to the Texas Equine Family, Cesile!

We are thrilled to welcome a wonderful new addition to our Texas Equine family. Cesile Owens brings years of hands-on experience, a deep love for horses, and a thoughtful approach to horsemanship that aligns beautifully with our values here at Texas Equine. From the moment she joined us, it was clear that both our horses and our riders would be in excellent hands.

Cesile will be schooling and exercising our horses, and helping around Texas Equine! We couldn’t feel more confident knowing our horses are in such capable, knowledgeable, and compassionate hands. Her experience, thoughtful approach, and deep respect for horses will directly benefit not only our equine partners, but also every rider who learns from them.

Meet Cesile

Cesile has been actively involved in the horse industry for over 12 years, driven by a lifelong passion for horses and a desire to share her knowledge with others. She truly believes that horse people are the best kind of people—and we couldn’t agree more.

What Cesile loves most about working with horses is that they are constant teachers. No matter how much experience you have, there is always something new to learn, and she approaches every day with curiosity, humility, and openness.

Cesile’s love for horses runs deep and spans a lifetime. She currently cares for a full and lively herd, led by Penny, her incredible 32-year-old mare whom she’s had since she was just four years old, and who still holds the title of “super fast.” Flashy, her strong and spirited five-year-old, adds youthful energy to the mix—lazy and crazy all at once, and a perfect complement to Cesile. Her daughter Brailey has her own horse, Spanky, and together they share the responsibility of caring for several additional horses who are in transition. These include a sweet retired racehorse affectionately called Big Ugly, easily identified by his lip tattoo and powerful yet gentle presence, as well as Brownie (formerly Jack), a calm, easy-going horse recently chosen for a young rider who needed the perfect steady partner. Cesile is also temporarily caring for Zeb, a horse belonging to one of Brailey’s friends, as she helps prepare both horses for their future home. At any given time, Cesile may have a few extra horses under her wing—ensuring they’re healthy, comfortable, and well-adjusted before their next chapter begins. And just to round things out, there’s even a very friendly baby goat in the mix, and 2 dogs, Lace and Bo, because life with Cesile is never dull.

Sometimes change brings unexpected blessings—and this is absolutely one of those moments. When a riding school Cesile had been working with chose to shift its operations and no longer work with independent contractors, it opened the door for a new opportunity. That change became our gain, and we couldn’t be happier that it led Cesile to Texas Equine.

Teaching Style & Experience

Because Cesile is a show-and-do learner, when she teaches, she adapts her teaching style to meet each student where they are—finding creative ways to help riders truly understand and connect, something we already do here at Texas Equine. This makes her a terrific addition in case she ever decides to teach classes here, however, her priority is exercising and schooling horses to help them be the best they can be for our riders, which suits us just fine!

Her riding experience spans a wide range of disciplines, including:

  • Western riding

  • Roping

  • Barrels & poles

  • Trail riding

  • Exercising racehorses as a jockey

Cesile believes everyone should have the opportunity to experience the greatness of these incredible animals and works hard to create a friendly, encouraging, and fun learning environment where students can grow, make friends, and feel at home.

A Shared Mission

Cesile is deeply committed to keeping the equine industry alive and thriving by passing on correct horsemanship, proper horse care, and a genuine respect for the animals we love. She understands that both horses and humans learn differently—and when challenges arise, she simply adjusts, tries new approaches, and keeps moving forward.

Her philosophy is simple yet powerful: Keep learning. Let the horses teach you. And never stop seeking wisdom from those who’ve walked the path before.

Please Join Us in Welcoming Cesile

We are so excited to have Cesile as part of Texas Equine and know that both our horses and our riders will benefit immensely from her experience, patience, and heartfelt dedication.

If you see Cesile around the barn or arenas, please say hello and help us welcome her to Texas Equine. We are beyond grateful to have her here and can’t wait to see the positive impact she will make on our community.
