On Friday, May 9th, Texas Equine had the privilege of participating in a very special event—the in-house Equest Horse Show, Shelby served as the judge for the evening’s competitions. It was a meaningful experience filled with heart, horsemanship, and celebration!

Founded nearly four decades ago, Equest has been a trailblazer in the field of equine-assisted therapy, supporting individuals with autism, veterans, and people with diverse physical, cognitive, and emotional needs. What has remained constant over the years is Equest’s unwavering dedication to providing next-level care—often becoming the missing piece of a client’s puzzle and offering breakthrough moments of relief, confidence, and connection. Shelby was joined by one of Texas Equine’s own students, Patty Limerick, who volunteered as the event scribe—carefully recording scores for each rider and playing a key role in supporting the judging process. Patty’s attention to detail and enthusiasm brought even more joy to the experience, and we are so proud of her for stepping up to serve.

It was truly a terrific time had by all, and we are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to support and celebrate Equest’s riders. From the smiles in the saddle to the silent happy-hands cheers from the crowd, every moment reminded us why equine therapy is so powerful.
Congratulations to all of the riders, volunteers, and winners from both Friday and Saturday! Your hard work, courage, and spirit shone bright—we are so proud of each of you.
Thank you, Equest, for letting Texas Equine be part of your journey. We look forward to continuing to partner and uplift the life-changing work you're doing.
