A New Season, A New Group of Interns

We are thrilled to welcome our newest group of interns for the Texas Equine Industry Readiness Program! These individuals are already off to a strong start, and we’re excited to see how they grow and thrive during their 8-week internship.

This session is extra special—not only are our interns bringing a variety of talents and aspirations to the program, but for the first time ever, we’ve officially opened applications to high school students aged 16 and up. After many parent inquiries, we made the decision to expand the program to younger equine enthusiasts, and we’re happy to announce that one of our current interns is a high school student!

A Fresh Format: 8-Week Internship Sessions

This year, we introduced a new structure to our internship—8-week sessions designed to give interns a focused, hands-on experience. Interns attend two consistent 4-hour work sessions each week, plus a weekly 60-minute lesson that blends hands-on training, groundwork or mounted exercises, and educational lectures.

Each intern works through six different skill levels, so they’re always progressing and learning new aspects of the equine industry. The best part? Interns can return for another 8-week session as many times as they'd like, advancing to higher skill levels and diving deeper into their interests.
