An inspiring day of learning, sharing, and showing what makes our program unique.

On June 21st, we had the pleasure of welcoming the Equine Industry Tour (EIT) class from Texas A&M University-Commerce, led by instructor Nathan Wells, to Texas Equine for a behind-the-scenes tour of our facility. This biennial course introduces students to breeding, training, and competition operations that play a significant role in the equine industry—and we were proud to be one of their featured stops.
From the moment the students stepped off the van, we were excited to give them a full look at what makes Texas Equine tick. We walked them through the daily rhythms of our program—from feeding protocols and individualized care routines to innovative tools we use to support both horse and rider development.

Some highlights from the tour included:
Our Color-Coded Horse Management System
Each horse at Texas Equine is on a carefully customized schedule. To keep things organized and efficient, we use a color-coded system for feed, supplements, and routines—making it easier for staff and volunteers to meet each horse's specific needs while maintaining high standards of care.

Feeding Schedules & Nutrition Management
We explained how feed times are spaced throughout the day and how we monitor dietary needs, hydration, and health. With a range of equine athletes and therapy partners in our barn, consistency and detail are key—and students got to see firsthand how that plays out in our operation.

The iGallop Simulator in Action
Introducing students to our iGallop horse-riding simulator—a core-strengthening tool we use for both student warm-ups and therapeutic training, designed to mimic the three-dimensional motion of horseback riding, was a hit. The iGallop helps improve rider balance, coordination, and muscle tone—especially helpful for newer riders and individuals with physical challenges.

Adaptive Equipment & Learning Tools
We also demonstrated some of the simulation devices and adaptive supports we integrate into our lessons. The EIT students showed a lot of interest in how we combine traditional horsemanship with modern technology to improve both safety and rider efficiency and progress.

Facility Overview & Program Mission
Of course, no visit would be complete without sharing our broader mission—creating a space where horsemanship, healing, and growth come together. From our standard riding programs to our inclusive divisions and wellness offerings, we were proud to show how Texas Equine continues to grow and serve our community.
We’re deeply grateful to Nathan Wells and the Texas A&M University-Commerce Equine Science program for including us in this year’s tour. It was an honor to host such bright, curious students who represent the future of our industry. We look forward to seeing where their paths lead—and we’re always here if they want to come back for more!
