Hands-on horsemanship for riders of all levels


Service Description

The Texas Equine Horsemanship Mini Camp is a structured, hands-on introduction to riding and horse care, designed for riders of all experience levels. With a focus on safety, confidence, and foundational skills, this 3-day program allows participants to build real horsemanship knowledge both in and out of the saddle. Campers are placed into small groups to ensure a personalized, calm, and supportive learning environment. What Campers Will Learn Throughout the camp, participants will develop essential horsemanship skills, including: -Safe horse handling and barn awareness -Grooming and basic horse care -Introduction to saddling and tack -Riding fundamentals such as balance, steering, and control -Understanding horse behavior and communication Daily Structure Each day includes a combination of mounted and unmounted learning to create a well-rounded experience. Campers will rotate through: -Horse Time: Grooming, tacking, riding, and aftercare -Learning Activities: Horse education, hands-on exercises, and guided activities -Creative Projects: Fun, horse-themed crafts that reinforce learning This rotation allows campers to stay engaged while gaining both practical skills and confidence around horses. Small-Group Experience To maintain a high-quality learning environment, camp enrollment is limited. Campers are divided into small groups Each group receives dedicated instruction and support Emphasis is placed on both participation and observation, allowing riders to learn from one another End of Camp At the conclusion of the program, each camper will receive: -A Texas Equine camp shirt -A certificate of completion The Texas Equine Approach At Texas Equine, we believe that horsemanship goes beyond riding. Our programs are designed to help riders develop confidence, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the horse. This camp provides a strong foundation for riders who are new to horses, as well as those looking to continue developing their skills in a structured and supportive environment.


Cancellation Policy

Camp Registration & Payment Policy -To reserve a spot in any Texas Equine camp, participants may either pay in full or submit a non-refundable deposit at the time of registration. -All remaining balances must be paid in full no later than 20 days prior to the first day of the registered camp. -Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is not considered complete until payment or deposit has been received. Payments -A non-refundable deposit is required at checkout to hold a camper’s spot -Full payment may be made at registration if preferred -Remaining balances must be paid by the stated deadline to maintain enrollment -Failure to submit payment by the deadline may result in forfeiture of the camper’s spot. For Educational Events: All deposits are non-refundable Cancellations made 15 days before the start of the event may receive a refund of payments made beyond the deposit No refunds will be issued after the 15th day leading up to the event. No refunds will be given for missed days, partial attendance, late arrivals, or early departures Transfer Policy -Camp registrations may be transferred to another participant with prior approval from Texas Equine. Transfers must be requested no later than 3 days prior to the start of the camp. -The original registrant is responsible for coordinating any financial arrangements. Weather Policy -All camps operate rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, mounted activities may be adjusted and replaced with unmounted educational sessions. Safety & Participation -The safety of riders, horses, and staff is our top priority. -Participants are expected to follow all instructions and safety guidelines. Texas Equine reserves the right to dismiss any participant who demonstrates unsafe behavior or is unable to follow directions. No refunds will be issued in the event of dismissal. Attendance -Campers are expected to attend all scheduled days. No refunds, credits, or rescheduling will be issued for missed days, late arrivals, or early departures. Dress Code & Required Attire -For the safety of all participants: Pants are required at all times (jeans or breeches) Shirts must have sleeves (no tank tops or crop tops) Boots with a heel are required for the duration of the camp -Participants who arrive out of dress code may be asked to leave for the day. -Personal helmets are encouraged. Texas Equine will have helmets available to borrow if needed.
