Service Description

The Texas Equine Show Ring Experience is a structured, small-group training program designed for riders ready to develop real horse-show skills in a supportive, focused environment. This 5-day experience emphasizes the fundamentals of western riding and classical dressage, helping riders build accuracy, confidence, and consistency both in and out of the arena. With a maximum of 8 riders, each participant receives personalized instruction while also benefiting from group learning and observation. Throughout the week, riders will develop skills essential for success in the show ring, including: -Understanding and riding dressage-style tests -Arena geometry, patterns, and accuracy -Rider position and effective communication with the horse -Show grooming, tack preparation, and presentation -Warm-up routines and ride preparation -Ring etiquette and what judges are looking for -Proper horse care before and after riding Weekly Structure Each day combines mounted and unmounted learning to create a well-rounded experience. **Participants are responsible for bringing a snack and drink** Riders will participate in: -Guided riding sessions focused on skill development and test practice -Hands-on grooming and tack preparation -Pattern work and test memorization (both mounted and on foot) -Classroom-style sessions covering the show knowledge and strategy The program is designed to build progressively throughout the week, allowing riders to gain confidence and refine their performance each day. On the final day of the program, riders will participate in a mock horse show, where they will: -Perform their assigned test in front of a judge -Demonstrate their skills in a structured show environment -Receive a score sheet with individualized feedback Each rider will also receive: -A Texas Equine Show Ring polo -A certificate of completion -A placement ribbon based on performance Program Format -Limited to 8 riders -Riders may be paired to share a horse during portions of the program -Emphasis is placed on both riding and learning through observation, a proven training method used in competitive programs This experience is ideal for: -Riders currently taking lessons who want to advance their skills -Riders interested in entering horse shows -Riders looking to build confidence and understanding in a structured setting


Cancellation Policy

Camp Registration & Payment Policy -To reserve a spot in any Texas Equine camp, participants may either pay in full or submit a non-refundable deposit at the time of registration. -All remaining balances must be paid in full no later than 20 days prior to the first day of the registered camp. -Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration is not considered complete until payment or deposit has been received. Payments -A non-refundable deposit is required at checkout to hold a camper’s spot -Full payment may be made at registration if preferred -Remaining balances must be paid by the stated deadline to maintain enrollment -Failure to submit payment by the deadline may result in forfeiture of the camper’s spot. For Educational Events: All deposits are non-refundable Cancellations made 15 days before the start of the event may receive a refund of payments made beyond the deposit No refunds will be issued after the 15th day leading up to the event. No refunds will be given for missed days, partial attendance, late arrivals, or early departures Transfer Policy -Camp registrations may be transferred to another participant with prior approval from Texas Equine. Transfers must be requested no later than 3 days prior to the start of the camp. -The original registrant is responsible for coordinating any financial arrangements. Weather Policy -All camps operate rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, mounted activities may be adjusted and replaced with unmounted educational sessions. Safety & Participation -The safety of riders, horses, and staff is our top priority. -Participants are expected to follow all instructions and safety guidelines. Texas Equine reserves the right to dismiss any participant who demonstrates unsafe behavior or is unable to follow directions. No refunds will be issued in the event of dismissal. Attendance -Campers are expected to attend all scheduled days. No refunds, credits, or rescheduling will be issued for missed days, late arrivals, or early departures. Dress Code & Required Attire -For the safety of all participants: Pants are required at all times (jeans or breeches) Shirts must have sleeves (no tank tops or crop tops) Boots with a heel are required for the duration of the camp -Participants who arrive out of dress code may be asked to leave for the day. -Personal helmets are encouraged. Texas Equine will have helmets available to borrow if needed.
