Service Description

Barn Night: Evening Horsemanship Experience at Texas Equine is a structured, hands-on event that gives riders the opportunity to learn, ride, and experience life at the barn in an engaging and supportive environment. With a focus on safety, confidence, and foundational horsemanship skills, this single-evening program allows participants to build knowledge both in and out of the saddle while enjoying a unique and memorable barn experience. Participants are placed into small groups to ensure a personalized, calm, and well-organized learning environment. Please note: participants must be between 8 and 14 years old. What Participants Will Learn Throughout the evening, participants will develop essential horsemanship skills, including: -Safe horse handling and barn awareness -Grooming and basic horse care -Introduction to saddling and tack -Riding fundamentals such as balance, steering, and control -Understanding horse behavior and communication Event Structure The evening includes a combination of mounted and unmounted learning to create a well-rounded experience. Participants will rotate through: -Horse Time: Grooming, tacking, riding, and aftercare -Learning Activities: Horse education, hands-on exercises, and guided activities -Interactive Activities: Light games or group activities that reinforce learning Following rotations, participants will enjoy a casual dinner and conclude the evening with a horse-themed movie experience. Participants are encouraged to bring a blanket for comfort during movie time. This structure allows participants to stay engaged while gaining both practical skills and confidence around horses. Small-Group Experience To maintain a high-quality learning environment, enrollment is limited. Participants are divided into small groups Each group receives dedicated instruction and support Emphasis is placed on both participation and observation, allowing riders to learn from one another End of Event At the conclusion of the event, each participant will receive: A certificate of completion The Texas Equine Approach At Texas Equine, we believe that horsemanship goes beyond riding. Our programs are designed to help riders develop confidence, responsibility, and a deeper understanding of the horse. Barn Night provides a meaningful and enjoyable opportunity for riders to build skills, connect with horses, and experience the barn in a structured yet relaxed setting.


Cancellation Policy

Camp Registration & Payment Policy -To reserve a spot in any Texas Equine camp, participants must pay in full at the time of registration. -Spots are limited and will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Cancellations made 5 days before the start of the event may receive a 50% refund of payments made We will not issue refunds after the 5th day leading up to the event. No refunds will be given for missed days, partial attendance, late arrivals, or early departures Transfer Policy -Barn Night registrations may be transferred to another participant with prior approval from Texas Equine. Transfers must be requested no later than 3 days prior to the start of the camp. -The original registrant is responsible for coordinating any financial arrangements. Weather Policy -All Barn Night Events operate rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, mounted activities may be adjusted and replaced with unmounted educational sessions. Safety & Participation -The safety of riders, horses, and staff is our top priority. -Participants are expected to follow all instructions and safety guidelines. Texas Equine reserves the right to dismiss any participant who demonstrates unsafe behavior or is unable to follow directions. No refunds will be issued in the event of dismissal. Dress Code & Required Attire -For the safety of all participants: Pants are required at all times (jeans or breeches) Shirts must have sleeves (no tank tops or crop tops) Boots with a heel are required for the duration of the camp Comfy clothes and a blanket are encouraged for the movie part of the evening. *Pizza and drinks will be served during the event. Please note any allergies in advance! -Participants who arrive out of dress code may be asked to leave for the day. -Personal helmets are encouraged. Texas Equine will have helmets available to borrow if needed.
