Hard Work Pays Off at “The Heat Is On” Hunter Jumper Competition

This weekend, our Texas Equine riders traveled to Longhorn Arena & Event Center in Greenville, Texas, to compete in the East Texas Hunter Jumper Club's The Heat Is On Competition. After weeks of preparation, practice rides, and dedication both in and out of the saddle, our riders stepped into the show ring ready to give their best—and they did not disappoint!

Hunter/jumper competitions provide riders with an opportunity to demonstrate not only their riding skills but also their ability to communicate effectively with their horses, maintain focus under pressure, and showcase the countless hours of training that happen long before show day arrives. Every ride is a chance to learn, grow, and build confidence.

Akira's Strong Performance

Akira had a wonderful day competing in the Ground Poles Division. She demonstrated determination and perseverance throughout each class, earning the following placings:

• 5th Place – Warm-Up Poles Class

• 2nd Place – Ground Poles Class 1

• 8th Place – Ground Poles Class 2

• 6th Place – Equitation Class

Each trip through the ring gave Akira valuable experience and an opportunity to continue developing her skills as a rider. We are incredibly proud of her effort, positive attitude, and willingness to keep learning and improving.

Samantha's Outstanding Day

Samantha delivered an exceptional performance in the show ring, earning top placings throughout the competition:

• 1st Place – Warm-Up Poles Class

• 1st Place – Ground Poles Class 1

• 1st Place – Ground Poles Class 2

• 3rd Place – Ground Poles Equitation Class

• 3rd Place – Cross Rails Equitation Class

Her consistent rides and strong performances across multiple classes earned her the title of Grand Champion in the Hunters Ground Poles Division!

This achievement reflects the dedication, focus, and hard work Samantha has invested in her riding. Winning a championship requires consistency throughout the division, and Samantha rose to the challenge with confidence and determination.

More Than Ribbons

While we are always excited to celebrate ribbons and championships, what makes us most proud is the growth we see in our riders. Horse shows teach valuable life skills, including responsibility, perseverance, sportsmanship, patience, and goal setting. Every rider who enters the ring is building confidence and gaining experience that extends far beyond the arena.

Both Akira and Samantha represented Texas Equine with professionalism, kindness, and excellent horsemanship. Their success is the result of many hours spent learning, practicing, and developing partnerships with their horses.

We would also like to thank the hosts, Eat Texas Hunter Jumper Club, families, volunteers, show staff, and everyone who helped make this experience possible. It truly takes a team to support riders on their journey.
